There's some weirdness in the calculation.

The air reduction has to be more than x%, but the length of the apnea is measured for a time period when the airflow reduction is somewhat less. Sometimes this cause the duration reported to be higher than you think it is.

Also, if you take a few deep breaths before the apnea, the baseline the apnea is measured against may shift.
