Software choice two different machines

Software choice two different machines
Ok, not sure if this has already been covered as it seems like many threads on this forum.  But didn't really see what I was looking for. I have a ResMed S9 CPAP that I have used the ResScan software for to download data.  Today I got a new machine, a Respironics Dream Machine CPAP.  I see two software programs that are suppose to work with the Dream Machine; the Encore and Sleepyhead.  The Encore says it only works with the Resperonics, however the Sleepyhead will work with both the Resperonics and the Resmed.  Any recommendations on either program? I'd like to just have one program to download my data, and it looks like SleepyHead can do  both machines.  (The new machine is my main home machine.  I'll use the Resmed for traveling.)

Just to be clear your new machine is the Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP Machine (DSX500x11)  (Model Number is on the bottom)  correct?

Most people on this forum are more familiar with SleepyHead than Encore.  If your Dr. prefers that you give him Encore reports than perhaps the Encore software.
There is no such thing as SleepyHead data on the SD card, it is just CPAP data that either Encore or SleepyHead reads and interprets.

My choice would be to use SleepyHead.

When I started using my DreamStation CPAP Pro, the only software that worked with it was Encore Pro. Encore Pro is a clunky, hard to use, slow application meant for use in a clinical setting. It will only work with Respironics machines.

When SleepyHead was updated to work with the DreamStation series I started using it and haven't looked back. It is easy to use application that is easy to use. It will work with a variety of different machines  Forum member robysue has written a good guide to SleepyHead.

If it was me, I would use SleepyHead if at all possible.

I agree, #SleepyHead would be your best choice, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks Fred. That's the info I'm looking for.  Since the new machine has an internal modem, I guess the provider can access the data whenever.  However I still like to access it on my own.  Also for providing to a different provider that I get a DOT Physical from.  I'll open up and learn to use the Sleepyhead software so that I can use that for downloading data from either of my machines. Colby

And thanks to the other commenters as well!
