Switching to BiPAP

Switching to BiPAP
I recently switched from APAP to BiPAP.  My new Resmed F40 mask was great with APAP (0 leaks) but the higher pressures of BiPAP (18/16cm) cause many leaks unless I really tighten to an uncomfortable point.
Is there a better mask for the higher pressures? I need a full mask as I'm a mouth breather.

What mode is your bipap running? Also what are the full pressure settings?

It's a Airsense 11 set in S mode. Pressure is 18 and 16.

Gary - You may wish to verify if your Resmed 11 displays the model as an "AirCurve". The AirSense series is a regular CPAP, with auto adjusting, whereas the AirCurve series is the more advanced device that is a Bi-Level or other advanced configurations.

RE: Switching to BiPAP
I have a ResMed AirFit F20, F30, and an F40. Of the three, the F30 serves me best. Once in a while though, I will change masks for a bit.

All three seal pretty good for me. I'm a mouth breather and a side sleeper.

Current machine, in question, is the AirCuve 11 VAuto.  My other older machine is the AirSense 10.

Pulmonologist set these pressures.  Originally wanted 18 and 16 but my mask and myself could not take that high of a pressure so I asked to lower it to 15/13 cms.

You can get in and control your settings. I do this myself even now. You might be more comfortable in VAuto mode with variable pressures.

As you mention tight mask, that indicates time for a better mask. I can use my VAuto with a Fisher and Paykel Evora Full, a hybrid. Light tension, great seal.
