[Treatment] Everything seems so random...
#1
Everything seems so random...
So, I started using a cervical collar and my Obstructive events got better, but...

I had already achieved it before without using the collar with the settings my doctor was doing for me! The problem that time was with the Hypoapnea events, which were high (as you can see in the first image in my OSCAR reports).

Last month, I started doing things on my own to improve these H events, but then the O events got worse... Like?

Now, with the cervical collar, both O and H events got better (as you can see in the second image), but it's something I find uncomfortable, almost unbearable to use, even more knowing I've already achieved less O events without it. And the CA events, I don't know what to do with it too – and quickly.

Maybe I should just follow my doctor's instructions/settings and wait a month before doing any change in settings? She always told me the therapy would take some time to make any improvement because it is something my body needs to get used to, but I was feeling so bad I thought I should do things on my own too.

I'm so confused about how this therapy works, if we should feel a overnight improvement every time we make a change in settings or if it takes time between each change to see the differences...  Dont-know

I have an appointment next week and she doesn't know I'm doing things on my own yet. I don't know how she'd react.

every breath you take, every night you sleep, is different, so results will normally fluctuate. anytime you change things make little adjustments on one setting at a time. if you change 2 things at the same time you won't know which setting made it better or worse. give your setting changes time to work before trying something else.

you appear to be adjusting pressure higher, and chart is looking better i think, not sure how you feel when you wake up and during the day?

You are also using EPR.

Try raising your pressure to 11 cm, leave EPR3

See what that does and how you feel.

With the collar, it takes a bit to find the sweet spot for not too tight and not too loose.

Maybe you had it too tight which is why it was better without collar?!

2 fingers should fit between neck and collar, try that maybe?

Also, in general you should wait a bit between settings, depending on what you are adjusting.

Dont change pressure AND ePR at the same time.

Keep raising your pressure a little bit every couple nights, 0.2 cm , until you feel good.

Overnight setting change, depending on what you change, may or may not make you feel better.

There are so many factors that can change day to day.

I think you have shown charts that you are heading the right way.

Pick a strategy and stay with it for a week or so.

As for your doctor, it is your health, when you get things under control, who cares what they think, though i think they will be OK when things are good.

Good Luck!
