RE: TiMax and Inspiration Time?
I would ask this question directly of ChadBSr over in his thread.
RE: TiMax and Inspiration Time?
I was about to order the parts for EERS and somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to recall something about not using it if you have CHF or heart conditions but my searching did not locate anything as such?
Got a full night with Oscar which may be more insightful so here it is..
RE: TiMax and Inspiration Time?
I have not heard of that warning pertaining to EERS, but it has been relevant to ASV based on the 2015 SERVE-HF study. As far as I know, the increased rebreathing space naturally stimulates a higher tidal volume by offsetting ventilation induced CO2 flushing by PAP. This avoids the loop gain effect of hyper and hypo ventilation, whichis what we're after. The mechanism of ASV is different, using pressure support to mitigate hypoventilation and CA. The mechanism of the observed increased death rate for untitrated and unsupervised asv with severe CHF was never explained. The newer ADVENT HF suggests that the SERVE HF study had design flaws that may have affected results, and the increase of mortality was not observed in that trial. Check the wiki on SERVE-HF

Thanks for that. ChadBSr seems to indicate the noise level may be concerning with the F30 lashup especially if using a shorter tubing.
Does the overnight chart I posted above still reflect your earlier interpretation? If so, maybe I should order the parts and build the EERS set up..
In the meantime I probably would leave the settings as-is as I got a good nights sleep (unless it was from catch up from the night in the hospital).
Thank You

RE: TiMax and Inspiration Time?
It’s hard to predict the effect of EERS. It mostly resolves the periodic breathing and central events from a mix of hyper/hypo ventilation and seems to improve tidal volume and flow limitation. Your charts seem to show clusters of obstructions with high flow limitation and events associated with that. All with PS 4. To me that suggests positional obstruction. I don’t have a problem with trying anything, but I think you need to eliminate the possibility you’re chin tucking first.
RE: TiMax and Inspiration Time?
Sounds like a plan. Sticking to these settings for now and hauling out the old cervical collar (glad it is NOT summer). May go ahead and order the EERS parts so I have them if I need them..
I'll give you a collar chart in a couple days.
Thanks a million!
