Undetected apneas

Hi Paula. They're two different things. When I said "flow" I meant "flow rate" which is the actual flow of air in and out of the lungs. "Flow Limitation" is a partial obstruction of the airway as detected by a change in the shape of the flow signal (from SleepyHead FAQ).

Thanks - I didn't have the high rate data sessions ticked. I now have flow data and charts.

Now I see in ResScan exactly the same zero flow episodes I saw in Sleepyhead. They are 20 - 40 seconds long, virtually a flat line and not flagged as an event. Is this a problem with my machine? Or are they not in fact apneas?

glad you got it fixed! I don't know anything about VPAP so I will defer that part to those that know! I still haven't figured out the flow and I looked at yours but I don't know what the events you are speaking of would look like so I am not helpful in that part of your post. I wish I understood some of this better and will in due time.

That looks like one of those breathing disorders. One like Cheynne Stokes. But you have a VPAP Adapt. Is that to treat your CSA or is it a bilevel?

Thanks Paula. I got the VPAP Adapt because the regular auto machine wasn't treating central apneas. I tried a Philips ASV first but I sleep a lot better with the ResMed. However the Philips shows a lot more detail in SleepyHead which might be useful right now. It did flag some very short periods of periodic breathing.

I think I'll book an appointment with my therapist and see if she can tease out the data further.
