Water coming up heated hose
I have an RESMED-airsense10. I use a heated hose. I've used it 691 days straight. That's as long as I've had it. Last night I had a problem. About a half hour with it up and running, water started coming up the hose. Never happened before. I had a brand new heated hose and that solved the problem. How, I don't know. Any help appreciated. Thanks

RE: Water coming up heated hose
Without the heat you were likely getting condensation.
Eventually with all the flexing either the wires that heat the hose will break or the hose will spring a leak.

I've been using the same heated hose for almost 2 years. Like most people, I hate change. I guess last night the hose finally gave out. I was lucky I had a new hose I could use. Many thanks for your help.

RE: Water coming up heated hose
Water in the hose is usually the result of an over-filled humidifier chamber or the unit being tipped or jostled. As long as the tube is directed upward from the machine, any water will drain back and not become a problem. If your tubing sags lower than the machine, water will accumulate at the low point and make noise or find its way to the mask.

If the concern is whether the tubing still has electrical continuity or resistance, there is a nearly 5-year old thread here where DeepBreathing talks about conductance between the three pins http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...l-question

RE: Water coming up heated hose
Every now and then I fill the humidifier above the line. I didn't think it made a difference. Now I know it does. Thanks for your help.
