Where is the Aircurve 11?
Hello,
New to this forum, came from a DME-owned forum .com which is a shell of its former self.
I have been using an Aircurve 10 ASV and have been due for a replacement for about a year now, but have held off as it seems Resmed is WELL past due for releasing the Aircurve 11. I keep searching every few months and see absolutely no news regarding an updated Aircurve ASV.
Has anyone heard anything about when this might be announced? Is it just me, or wasn't the Aircurve 11 due a couple years ago?
Thanks
RE: Where is the Aircurve 11?
I don't think I would be holding off on buying Aircurve 10 in favor of waiting on an 11. I agree, the model change is well overdue, but with the version 10, we know the hardware components were the same throughout the line from the Airsense 10 CPAP to the Aircurve 10 ventilators, and the only difference was firmware. The Aircurve 10 firmware is updated from your model, mostly to service a new generation of modem communications. I got an Aircurve 10 Vauto in July last year. I think the 10 has several advantages. The pneumatic block is larger, while the 11 also services the Air-Mini. The configuration of the tubing is on a swivel that can change position, while the 11 is fixed horizontally to the side. There are effectively no changes to the therapy algorithm that would make the 11 series more useful, however we have not seen an Aircurve concept yet. The ASV has a lot of room for improvement including manual over-rides for minimum target minute vent, trigger sensitivity, Ti management, manual respiratory rate over-ride, and more flexibility in setting minimum and maximum PS which currently is a minimum of 5-cm difference. I really like the Aircurve 10 algorithm and its generally applicable utility, but those changes would be game-changing for Resmed. I don't actually expect Resmed to make those settings available because it would require a whole new layer of FDA approval, but it would be nice. Anyway, until it becomes clear there is some kind of change to the therapy algorithm and/or settings, I don't see waiting on an Aircurve 11 to be of any advantage.

Maybe it's due, but with the trend to modify things taking steps backwards, maybe it's not needed.
The ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV is still a great choice. I've had one myself.
If you need a replacement get another ResMed 10 ASV.
