Worried newbie here !
Hi !

I'm new here. My sleep stydy show me between 46 ans 75 events per hour. I'm using the resmed 11 for 23 days now and the stast in My air seems ok (between 0.5 and 2 events per hour). I've install an sd card in m Resmed and oscar on my pc yesterday. It show what seem to be real central events. in fact I cant see details for the others nights but oscar stat show an evrage of 0,20 CA event. From the last night graph it seem to be true central event. Those seems to be more dangerous or have a more dangerous cause.....

Can someone take a look at my graph ?

Thanks !

Welcome to Apnea Board!

You only have one clear airway lasting approximately 10 sec. With a total AHI under 2, these are good readings.
This is not dangerous at all. CA's can occur for many reasons, like rolling over and holding your breath. Don't worry over 1 CA event.

If anything, I would be more inclined to keep watch on the Obstructives. You need to maintain a high enough EPAP to sprint the airway open to keep Obstructives from occurring.

With that said, I would raise the minimum pressure to 8cm, EPR set at 2. This will give you a minimum EPAP OF 6.
Set the maximum to 12cm. This will limit runaway pressure swings caused either by leaks or flow limitation.

Summary:

Minimum - 8cm
Maximum - 12cm
EPR 2
Ramp off.

Give it a try, and let us know how you feel.

Note: If you have a copy of your sleep report, you can post it here, so we can see the breakdown of the apnea events,
especially CA's.

Hello,

Your graph only shows only one central apnea and just four obstructive apneas. Your AHI was excellent at just 0.94 events per hour.

Did you mean that you had an AHI (or IAH in French) of 75 events per hour in your sleep study?

Did you have significant central apneas?

Can you post your next night's graph, without the calendar, so your settings are visible?

You can do this by clicking on the small triangle on the left of the top date line.

We will then have a better idea of your situation.

Thanks

Sony concern yourself over a single CA flag. Focus on this will likely deflect your attention to other more important things. If you had 20, 30, etc. OK, but is not that way for you.

I don't have hard numbers to sample, but lots of people have a few CA while asleep. A select few like myself have lots, like 124 a night. Thankfully you don't.

Adjust settings as suggested, it'll be fine.

Thanks a lot for that answer !

Before trying anything myself I would wait my appontment with the penumologist. The therapist who follow me told me that after 30-45 days of usage the will make some change in the settigs of my machine.

I dont have a copuy of my sleep report, but i'm almost 100% sure that it show no Central apnea event. The study was not in hospital with many machines. It was an home one with somehing in my nose, around my chest and an oxymeter. Maybe it was not precise enough

Thanks for the answer !

I dont have acces to my full report, but what I do remember is that it show no Central, 48 AHI and 75 while on my back. But it was an home study with a small device. Maybe that device couldn't detect Central apnea. I'll post again tomorrow.

Sorry, I'm filled with typos lately.

I'm guessing it should have read, don't concern yourself...

Not really, even 2 CA isn't a thing to concern yourself over. If you get 30 plus, then you've got a case for concern. Your overall report at 1.53 is very good.

What actions I would consider is pushing min pressure 6 to 7, for the other events that are lingering. Then you can also lower your Max to 15. So far, you've not gotten above 12 Max.

Zero events isn't the goal, even here. It's just appearing that your pressure goes up from min 6 fairly frequent, and it might be more comfortable to add a small amount to the base pressure.

Also as you're using EPR, if you're trying to use EPR 3, the Min pressure needs to be at 7 for it to work unhindered.

Here's my last 3 nights oscar Reports. Last night seem good. THere's something strange with the 2 nights before, a period without any data. Is my machine bugging ?

Once again on august 2 central apnea and one of them was more than 15 seconds.

RE: Worried newbie here !
same comments as others, CA of that length is of no consequence. numbers of CA you are experiencing would never cause any concern no matter how many days have them.
