airmini smart stop leads to many on/off events

airmini smart stop leads to many on/off events
I have been using full size Resmed CPAP machines for many years and I am now trailing an airmini for a coming holiday.  I have been pretty impressed by the unit but I have run into one issue. The machine had both Smart Start and Smart Stop activated.  But on my initial run I noticed a large number of on/off cycles - 27. I guess this means that it was automatically stopping and restarting when I was asleep (and thus spending most of the run in Ramp mode).

Last night I turned off Smart Stop.  And the issue vanished. Can anyone provide any ideas of why these multiple off/on events are happening? Is this something that others have noticed?

I am using an F20 full face mask.

This anomaly has been reported beginning on the AS10 and has carried over to the AS11. While the AS10 only had both on and off under the Smart Start option, Resmed separated them on the AS11, like your AirMini.

Thanks for this quick response, it means that I can stop worrying about what I might have done wrong! Does this anomaly only affect users with F20 mask, or is it mask independent? And have enough people reported it that Resmed might consider coming up with a fix?

Will continue with this feature switched off and I am glad that Resmed has made the change which allows me to still have Smart On, which I consider is the most important of the two.

It is independent of the mask type. This is one of those "undocumented features" in the software. Oddly, this option worked flawlessly on the S9.

I wouldn't hold my breath about Resmed correcting this problem. Big Grin

This feature has worked flawlessly on my VAuto for the past three years.
But.... for the last couple months, I've noticed it's starting to fail.

It does start when I mask up, but it takes a few really deep breaths to get going. I've never had to force a breath before to get it to start.

When I remove my mask, it just keeps blowing and blowing and blowing.... Sad
and no, I'm not talking about the cool down feature. I literally have to manually push the off button to get it to stop.

I've not noticed it stop/start during the night.
