huge improvement with bipap

huge improvement with bipap
New member. I have been back on CPAP for about 8 weeks (had  sleep study 10 years ago and just could not handle the full face mask. quit within a few weeks. Ended up losing a bunch of weight and not needing cpap..well back to obese and have been feeling so bad..knew it was OSA related. (and the obesity)

I pulled my old system one cancer machine out of storage and cranked it up..used it for 3 weeks on CPAP mode until I read about the recall. Ended up switching to my dads old Resmed S9 VPAP. I set it to 10 on CPAP mode because that appeared to be what my System One was doing.

I could tell immediately that CPAP made a huge difference and now I could tolerate it thanks to the P10 nasal pillow mask that I bought out of pocket.

In the process of getting a new sleep study, I was able to get my old results and I was supposed to be on auto 10-18...(although my results on 10 cpap seem really good to me..(1.3 AHI avg?)

So I decided to change the S9 to VPAP mode with 8-12 as settings..last night was first full night on bipap mode and I seem to have gotten really good results.
I'm hoping I can just bring my machine/sd card to my new doc next month and can avoid a sleep study. but if not - so be it..

Would ya'll mind looking over my Oscar data from last night and let me know if you see anything that might need tweaking?

Thanks!

Hopefully soon to change my username to amorninguy. lol

Welcome to ApneaBoard notamorningguy.  Your therepy looks pretty good. One thing that I see though is flow limitations of 0.16 in your 95%.  That is marginal and could be improved.

You might try raising your PS above 3.  Also, you may try using a lower pillow height; changing sleeping position from back to side, etc., or possibly a soft cervical collar if raising the PS more doesn't improve your 95% flow limitations.
