02 ring results
Hi everyone - I'm waiting for an at-home sleep test on May 8, but I decided to purchase a Wellue 02 ring in the meantime. I know these devices won't diagnose sleep apnea, but I figured they could be good at determining potential breathing issues. I've had what looks like two good nights so far, but last night I had a lot more drops in 02. Would anyone mind looking over my results from the past three nights and let me know your thoughts? Should I be concerned? Thank you!

Well you seem to have crazy good O2 levels so no issues there.

I'm still trying to figure out what I should be focusing on. Why are drops > 3% and 4% presented? I'm assuming I should be primarily concerned with 4% drops, but what do 3% drops tell me? It seems a bit odd (but also, I'm still learning) why I had a such a low number of drops on April 2 and 3 and then last night suddenly I have 19 drops > 3%. Again, I really appreciate your insight.

RE: 02 ring results
My results/charts vary considerably over any sequence of nights, some look like yours, some even better, some slightly worse. I also keep a sleep journal, to try to correlate how I feel the next day (e.g. headaches, mood, energy, alertness) against any recorded patterns.
One-off cases/sessions are not reliable indicators (could be coincidences), correlation by definition requires repeatability. Also, correlation does not equal cause - there could be some third factor expressing itself both through next-day feeling and overnight breathing. Whatever it is... I am no expert, just a DIY dabbler (in desperation).

RE: 02 ring results
Your overall O2 levels are fine. Drops of 3% or 4% may indicate apnea or hypopnea events. MAY indicate. You can have a high AHI with relatively few drops, or a low AHI with a fair scattering of drops.
As for variability: we can sleep quite differently from one night to the next, so no surprises there. You'd be looking for broader-scale patterns or trends. It's good you'll be getting a sleep test in a month. That will help clarify things a lot!
