ADD DR. TO CPAP MACHINE; CAN IT BE DONE AT HOME?

Hi,  I bought my cpap machine online and they can't register my dr. on the machine.
The local DME companies are giving me the run around.  I'm about to try my company again but they are far away.

Can the machine be programmed locally to add a Dr. does a tech have to do that?

I believe your doctor has to add your machine's serial number to his management interface to see your data. i don't think it can be done locally as there are "management" costs associated.

Or you can give them your sd card.

Usually a DME sends the doctor your data thru AirView, but if you didn't purchase your Cpap from a local DME, they may refuse to do that.  If they did agree, you would need to give them the serial number on the cpap.  In order for your doctor to receive the data, he/she would also have to sign up for AirView.

I don't believe there is any way for you to set that up from home.

You can, however register your Cpap through MyAir.  Data is then transferred to MyAir each morning.  You can also view it online.  I suppose you can print that information out for your doctor.

Or, preferably download OSCAR.  Use an SD card to record your data nightly.  You can share that data here for advice if you wish, or print out reports for your doctor to view.

I was able to finally contact my insurers dme and they are going to add him to the MY AIR system.

I'm new here -- I created my account to respond to this.

I've had this problem for years, and this is the first good explanation for the problem I've seen.  I bought my machine from [DME Link Removed Supplier #1], and my doctor has been unable to get it registered.  A nurse at the doctor's office told me that if I bought a mask from a local DME company they'd register me, but after I did, they said they couldn't do it.

Do you know what the issue is?  I've always assumed that it's because someone has to pay for the cellular data connection, and the DME company doesn't want to pay for people who don't buy from them.  But I guess it could be that they just don't want to help anyone who buys equipment online.
