AHI number
I have a dumb question. If I had 221 episodes during my sleep study (I assume I slept about 7 hours) then why is my AHI 8.5? Just confused.

RE: AHI number
Would have to see your sleep study to see why.

RE: AHI number
I have asked them to send me the report from the sleep study. But in other words, it isn't just the number of episodes divided by hours? They told me at the time that I had Severe Sleep Apnea, and that my machine needs to be set at 19 (which maybe has nothing to do with AHI, but they acted like that meant I had a bad problem), but now they are telling me I only have mild apnea. I don't understand why it changed in 2 years, they are looking at that same study.

RE: AHI number
You can't rely on word of mouth. AHI (apnea+hypopnea index) and RDI (AHI + RERA respiratory event related arousals) are two ways sleep studies are scored. My wife was "reported" to have severe apnea of 97 AHI. It turned out to be a simple math error, and the real rate was 9.7. Get the records and don't be afraid to second-guess things as mistakes happen. The type of study can also affect your results.
Your machine is at a very high pressure and wide range of pressure. I would suggest looking at your results in #Sleepyhead, as it can be much easier to interpret than ResScan. Your profile indicates you are unsure of what machine you have, but if you are using ResScan and have a pressure range, you either have a S9 or Airsense 10 Autoset.
