It is real and I received one from Apria in my last resupply.

I just got my new replacement water chamber REF #37299, and guess what? It's got a round heat plate. I know in the past, the Resmed humidifier chambers tended to develop a leak where the metal plate was sealed to the plastic chamber. This design should minimize that risk. It saves on the amount of stainless steel, while increasing the heating surface. I bet Resmed has an engineer on its design staff.

I got a definitive response from Resmed!

"Hello Bob,

Thank you for contacting ResMed about your water chambers

All new waters chamber should have the round silver plate, the ones with square silver plate were removed from the market several years ago."


So case closed! Next time I'll be angry when I get a square-plated one!
