Considering Second CPAP Purchase
Newbie looking for advice. I currently use a Resmed AirMini as my only CPAP. Successful use and significant reduction in Apnea events. I use air-pillow mask, a chin strap, and the "hostage tape" mouth tape. Can't use Oscar because no SD Card on AirMini. I purchase AirView clinician reports through RespShop. I started with the AirMini because I travel a fair amount, and hoped it could be the single cpap solution. I also use "AutoSleep" app with apple watch to track sleep stages which has helped indicate undetected apnea events that AirView does not report. Considering a second home oriented CPAP for two reasons:
1) Want more detailed information via Oscar or other SW (like Sleepyhead or ???). Do some cpap machines give more useful data via Oscar than others?
2) Lately I have had extreme dry mouth as if my lips and gums are glued together. It is that time of year here where low humidity is an issue. I use the "HumidX" and also tried "HumidX Plus" disk with airmini to no avail. Having a machine with actual humidity generation likely makes sense?
I apologize if answers lie somewhere else in the forum. I'm a newbie just getting started with Apnea Board today. Thanks to anyone willing to provide council.
RE: Considering Second CPAP Purchase
Lfmichel, your best bet is to get a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset Cloud to cloud version. This is a less expensive full-featured Autoset that accepts a SD card and provides detailed efficacy and use data through Oscar and/or ResScan. Both programs are free on Apnea Board. The C to C version does not have a modem chip, so you don't get MyAir which is a very limited online compliance and encouragement software. This is sold everyday at
Supplier #1 for $590, but I encourage you to call them and ask for any active discounts. Most online sellers must comply with posting a minimum advertised price online, but have a discount in their hip-pocket. Give it a try.
RE: Considering Second CPAP Purchase
Thank you Sleeprider. I met with my sleep doc and she likes the machine your recommended (ResMed 10) and feels the humidity will really help. I plan to purchase in the next day or so. On my AirMini, I have a way to get into clinician mode to input my own settings. Does the ResMed 10 (card to cloud) allow me to input my own settings through a similar back door, through Oscar, or must my clinic do it? Thanks for your kind council!
RE: Considering Second CPAP Purchase
You would change settings via the clinical menu directly into the machine. This is what the clinic would do. Do it yourself.

it's very easy to access the clinical menu on the AS10. there are many youtube videos explaining the process.
RE: Considering Second CPAP Purchase
lfmichel, this brief tutorial shows how to access the clinical menu. We can also provide you with the clinical manual that is excellent to understand how this machine works. I think the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset is the best CPAP on the market for many reasons. I'm sure you're going to love it. If you move quickly,
Supplier #1 has a special that discounts the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset 20% to $472, and the discount applies to your entire purchase. Code: REST2023 This code may expire today, but these come up pretty regularly.

Go get it! Even if you have to sort out the prescription, they will honor the price if you order.

RE: Considering Second CPAP Purchase
Rats; I should have bought when I first read this; now the code is expired. Is there a place I should be watching for deals?
I see there's a sticky for that in the commercial posts section that I overlooked first time around. Sorry for the noise :-)
