Air Sense 11 - Pressure Setting

Air Sense 11 - Pressure Setting
Hello,

I'm a new CPAP user.  I have the pressure setting between 7 - 16 with EPR at 3.  I'm not sure what is going on but the pressure always appear to reach around 16 every night.  I read through the forums and I think 16 may be too high??  Not sure what I'm doing wrong and how I should be correcting this.  I'm using F20 Airfit mask and I don't think I'm getting any leaks.  Any advice would help.  Thank you.

There are quite a few flow limitations causing the wild pressure swings. Try this:

Min pressure 10
Max pressure 16
EPR 3 full-time
No ramp

Some of the OA’s look like positional apnoea’s as well, so consider a flatter pillow and/or soft cervical collar.

RE: Air Sense 11 - Pressure Setting
At first glance your pressure increases are being driven by the flow limitations index. Generally speaking this flow limitation index is a intended to be a predictor of a impending airway closure. Pressure is increased to try to overcome the potential closure.
If you are reaching 16 regularly, you actually should consider increasing the ceiling pressure upwards.
