Does anyone have an tips on self titration for the Resmed aircurve 10 ASV?

As PS Min comes up, the FL will be reduced, but we don't want to get into the situation where the machine drives respiration, just an assist. I'm curious how you came to be on ASV. Your breathing looks like ST might have been a good choice.

The reason why I'm on ASV is because I was getting central apneas with Cpap fixed (airsense 10), APAP(airsense 10), auto Bipap (aircurve vauto). I believed that these were pressure induced central apneas because I did not have centrals during my sleep study. How do you conclude that an ST would be better based on my breathing pattern? Just curious on how you came to that conclusion as opposed to the ASV. Thanks Sr!

ASV is working fine, I guess I just am not seeing a lot of centrals, and I was wondering why tidal volume dropped with lower pressure support. If you get a chance, check the Wiki for an article on EERS. I have a feeling that might have made CPAP work for you. Your prior use of CPAP also explains why your EPAP pressures were so high...common mistake when moving to ASV.

I just read EERS on the Wiki page and I'm quite intrigued. So basically in order to achieve this effect l, I should block the air vents on my airtouch f20 mask and use the machine in straight cpap mode? Would the cpap pressure be a very low pressure since the air vents are being blocked?

Remember you need to install a replacement vent a foot or two up the tube. By moving the vent away from the mask, you create a space where exhaled air is not vented, and is rebreathed, increasing CO2 So that the centrals do not occur, however a vent must be provided or you won't get enough fresh air. Pressure needs to be set to prevent obstructive apnea, whatever that requires.

You might want to look up Foxfire who brought this subject to the forum He makes up his own EERS and his doctor is the author of that article. http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...a-attached EERS is not commonly available, and I don't think it is a project you should undertake unless you really understand what is involved. It has great potential, but is not a commercial product yet.

Ok so I changed the settings to what you recommended (EPAP min 6: PSmin/max 4-12). My issue is that I feel like I'm getting fragmented and disruptive sleep even with an AHI of 0. The flow limitation graph still looks very active. I feel like i'm being kicked out of deep sleep due to arousals that don't show up on the AHI score and I still find myself waking up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. I posted screenshot of my breaths and I noticed that the breaths go from a rounded curve to a more pointy curve during the night and also I'm still getting some activity on the snore graph as well. Tidal volume did go up to 420. I know that I only got 4:58 hours (probably actually asleep for 4:20 of that time) but I just feel like it's hard to stay asleep and I'm always waking up due to arousals. Any feedback???
