DreamStation Auto BiPAP to APAP?
Hello, my first post after lurking around without registering an account until now
I've recently been diagnosed with "severe obstructive sleep apnea" with an RDI/AHI of 63.1/53.5 per hour.
My father has two BIPAP machines and he offered me his "Philips
DreamStation Auto BiPAP" (post recall). My doctor told me I don't need a BiPAP but a CPAP instead.
I know this BiPAP can change mode into CPAP, I want to know whether this device can change into APAP mode instead?
RE: DreamStation Auto BiPAP to APAP?
Found the answer. It only has CPAP mode.

Running this bilevel as a bilevel will be just fine. It'll likely be better for you in some way, comfort, event control, etc.
Mask Primer
Positional Apnea

I'm also thinking in the same direction. I have a BIPAP machine that's readily available to me, I'm just going to give it a try for a few weeks to see what happens to my AHI.

Yep, only cpap and bilevel mode, what model bipap is it? I've had two dreamstation bipaps, they're very good machines once the foam is removed. And what are you setting it to for mode and pressures?

This is the settings I will be trying tonight. It’s the first time I’m using a PAP machine.
AutoB mode
IPAP: 20.0
EPAP: 4.0
