DreamStation Go Recall [consolidated replacement & compensation info & questions]
RE: DreamStation Go Recall [consolidated replacement & compensation info & questions]
My bank called me asking what the hell was up with the check amount this morning because they'd only been seeing smaller value checks come across up until now and their antifraud system picked up the $500 as unusual. Had to explain this phase of the recall to them...

It just doesn't end!

But did the check go through? Chase just told us that Philips has no funds in that account so we could not deposit the check they sent me yesterday.

My credit union released funds yesterday, which is also odd that they had followed up today about the deposit.

I'm just thinking their anti-fraud is a little confused because they've probably seen the System One $50 checks coming through and then see a customer try depositing $500 from the same payee -- and assumed that the $500 check might have been stolen, washed, or otherwise. :|

I get 'checks' from car dealers/manufacturers. Can't be cashed at a bank, but only used towards the purchase of a new vehicle. Any notes on the Philips check that it's to be only used towards a Philips branded CPAP from a DME? Thinking-about Grin

I don't know when this message in the Patient Portal changed, but it appears that Philips is saying that DS Go owners can opt for the cash or a replacement DS Go

From the portal when I entered my DS Go serial number:

Quote:ACTION REQUIRED: Please choose to receive either a financial payment or a DreamStation Go replacement device

Our records show that you registered a Philips Respironics DreamStation Go CPAP device in response to the voluntary recall of certain CPAP, BiPAP, and mechanical ventilator devices.

There are two options for remediation that are now available to you.

You must select one of the following two options. There is no default option and in the absence of your selection, no action can be taken. If you have retained a lawyer, you may wish to consult with them before making your decision.

OPTION 1 - Financial payment for return of affected units: You can select the financial payment option below to receive $500, based on manufacturing date of your affected device. You will receive this payment via check when we receive your affected DreamStation Go device. Philips Respironics will cover the packaging and return costs once you have taken your device to a FedEx location. Please note return instructions will be included in the Patient Portal once you select this option.

OPTION 2 - Elect to receive a replacement DreamStation Go device If you elect to remain in the remediation pathway, you must make the select "Receive a device" below.

You will have the option to provide a current prescription if you wish to continue with your current prescription. If you are unable, for any reason, to provide us with your current device therapy prescription, you have the option to receive a replacement DreamStation Go device with automatic adjusted settings more commonly known as Auto-adjusting CPAP. You can learn more about Auto-adjusting CPAP settings here.

Regardless of which option you select, we encourage you to consult with your physician about options for a new device to ensure continuity of care. Since your physician knows your medical history, they are most qualified to discuss your therapy options.

If you would like to make your election over the phone, or if you have any questions, please call 877-907-7508.

Thank you for your continued patience and trust.

So it appears that the replacement device WILL be a DS Go, either set to your prescription or set up as an APAP. I suspect that it will be a remediated device from those returned for cash...

Some folks have reported receipt of the financial settlement, however, I have not yet seen any reports of anyone actually receiving a remediated DSGo. I own the battery & humidifier accessories so I opted for a replacement device (under the assumption that the replacement will be a remediated Go). We’ll see. . .

I think that a pretty good guess. They've had those first returns for several weeks now, mine included.

It will be interesting to see what we eventually get. My portal says “You have elected to receive an Auto-adjusting CPAP as a replacement device”, it does not specify a Dreamstation Go, and I had called several months ago when this offer was first made available and was told I would most likely receive a Dreamstation 2 as a replacement.

"OPTION 1 - Financial payment for return of affected units: You can select the financial payment option below to receive $500, based on manufacturing date of your affected device. "

I think that means a prorated value, not an automatic $500.

Anyone received cash value on a DS go yet? How much did you get and what was the manufactured date or when did you get it?
