[Equipment] Advice on transitioning from pillows to FFM?

RE: Advice on transitioning from pillows to FFM?
"air pressure building in my mouth, and my cheeks start to puff out"

I get that some times, not often. I have questioned how it happens.

Air pressure inside your mouth is caused by your mouth not staying closed off from the rest of your airway. Open your mouth and breathe only through your nose. This is an example of closing off your mouth from the rest of your airway. Easy enough to do when one is wide awake.

If your mouth is at least somewhat open to the rest of your airway but you are keeping your lips closed - presto - chipmunk cheeks.
