[Equipment] Is Prisma 20A quieter than Airsense 10 autoset

RE: Is Prisma 20A quieter than Airsense 10 autoset
Aktmdn, is the "whoosh" sound coming from the machine or the mask? There is no doubt that air movement and leaks can make sounds, but they don't originate with the machine or motor noises. Masks that vent air directly or leak, are louder than those with a more muffled flow or well-sealed; and the use of EPR or pressure support will increase sound from venting and leaks. My Vauto is kept in a bedside drawer and there is no sound from the machine, but I may hear air noises depending on the condition of my mask seal.

The sound comes from left side of the machine, the air intake part. It’s not a mechanical sound but an air gushing kind of sound.

My machine is kept in the open next to my bed so I notice it. If it will be in a drawer, it will be quite.

Quick question: If your machine is in a drawer, how do you ensure air good circulation?

I used a hole-saw to drill a 2-inch hole through the back of the cabinet to allow the tube and power to be routed to the device and to allow the drawer to be closed, or opened to maintain the machine. Between that hole and the fact the drawer cabinet is anything but air-tight, there is plenty of air supply, and obviously expired air exits the mask vent, so no air is exhaled into the drawer. There is no hazard, and the machine is secure in a better, lower position to facilitate drain-back of any condensate. Quiet, cannot fall on the floor, better appearance for the room. Everything disappears.
