RE: Fisher and Paykel Solo
Well, I just got the F&P solo (with the nasal cushion not the pillows), and I really wanted to love it but I sadly do not. It hurts my (big) nose. Tried all sizes and the problem is the auto fit mechanism pushes the cushion against my nose and it causes me pain, even after I adjust it to be looser. The wind nose is another thing... it blows SO much air. I knew from the reviews it did that but wow it's worse than I thought. The good news is it brought me closer to my n30i which I love even more now.

question: Do you think the n30 will work for me since the n30i works for me? Reason I'm asking is because I'll eventually need the air mini for travel and it's not compatible with n30i but does work with the n30.

Thanks for reading. I really appreciate this board and what you all have to say!

@rishey

Thanks for your comments. They really help me.
I've been trying to simplify my cpap treatment. Along the way I bought a F&P Evora Full (full face mask). Some days it works magically. Some days it's terrible.

I was thinking of trying the Solo. I'm no longer interested, unless I can get a loaner from my DME supplier to try for a while.

(FWIW I have had great results using my N20 Resmed nasal mask. My mouth breathing is the issue. I don't like taping, and don't like the other alternative (My Knightsbridge Dual Band caps)

I agree with you on the Solo.  While for me it was comfortable, it was like having a wind tunnel on my face when I hit my regular pressure.  No thank you.  I went back to my F&P Brevida.
Just so you know you can use other masks with the Air Mini.  You just use a regular non heated hose and purchase an AirMini hose adapter which you can find on Amazon at or any online cpap shop.

With my mask, I add an HME from the tube to my mask.  I'm not sure if it would work with the hose that connects to the top, but I have found that it provides plenty of moisture for my mask.  That is even with the additional hose connector that is on the Braveda mask.

[DME Link Removed] Search Lofta for "heat moisture exchanger hme"

RE: Fisher and Paykel Solo
Hi,

I wish your post were true. I got my F&P Solo mask with air cushions about 10 days ago. I was told that the nasal pillows are not available yet and no one knows when they'll be available. While I love the fit of this mask (best of any I've tried), I don't think it plays nice with my ResMed AirSense 11. Or maybe I should say that the ResMed AirSense 11 doesn't play nice with this mask. My mask off number and AHI numbers are awful. I think this would all improve with nasal pillows for the Solo.

I have used ResMed masks but have developed an allergy to something in their nasal cushions. I do not have this problem with the F&P Brevida (preferred mask prior to Solo). Anyone have similar issues?

My sleep doc doesn't like F&P masks but I will use whatever works best for ME! This sleep apnea thing is not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Thank you,
Heron Woman

@Visko

I used several of the Wisp masks. I ended up with an issue on my nostril that had to be surgically removed. I've tried the ResMed P30 pillow mask. Actually both versions. My AHI went sky high. I'm back using my N20 mask. And Knightsbridge cap...I hate wearing so much gear. I'm a mouthbreather too. Diagnosed 35-40 years ago as severe OSA.
