Frustrated waiting for insurance preapproval
What is normal for a preapproval turnaround from insurance companies for the titration study?
I swear I am getting the runaround once again. I first saw the specialist before Thanksgiving. It took them until late February to get the approval for my original sleep study. Which was way too long, but it got blamed on the holidays.
It's been 2 1/2 weeks since the doctor told me I need the titration study. I spend my weekends sleeping because I'm so tired and have been. I was put on oxygen after my last appt. to get me through until the titration study, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Wow, that's a long time. I'd be calling folks a lot.
Keep a log of who you call when and the result of the phone call.

Even Medicare would have been approved in less than 3 months. You're looking at, what, nearly 6 months now?

Plan on calling again tomorrow.

Hi butterflyksses,
I'm sorry you have had to wait so ridiculously long.
Good luck to you when you call tomorrow, and as many times as you need 'till you find out something.

Please keep us apprised of your (lack of) progress. You may need to find a new/different sleep center/doc. There are some online resources available to assist with your search, if needed.
