It’s a shame you could not help educate your sleep dr on how to treat Complex sleep Apnoea did your dr not any reccomendations on where she would refer you ? It seems odd to just say no I can’t treat you without passing you on to a more highly qualified specialist

So I expected a referral to a next level up specialist; and instead I got a letter that is a nice way of saying “you’re to hard, bugger off”

Ask her to pleaase give tou a copy of the sleep test, the full copy that you can present to your new doctor, and can she help expedite the appointment.. And I agree with your GF, this IS a good thing.

And I agree with your GF, this IS a good thing. I’m fighting with them to release the test results for both the at home and the lab study from last night; at the moment they are refusing to release them - unless it’s to the doctor that organised it - and she is going away & refusing to see me or give me the results... I also tried the hospital I did the test at and they won’t release the results to anyone but the doctor. So I’m in a holding pattern... and because I’m exhausted getting that test done ... I can’t believe she made me do the test and as I head home she emails me and tells me that she won’t see me again and I can’t get the results without a request from a new doctor to transfer the history to them. I made an appointment with a random Dr, the first I could find that could see me in 3 weeks; hopefully by then I can get the results.

If your doctor will just write her opinion that you have complex sleep apnea, and provide a prescription for ASV, you can do the rest. It doesn't seem too much to ask as you will assume all responsibility for the right therapy. You can even send her a copy of the Resmed Clinical titration Protocol. I know it's a long shot, but this seems so inappropriate that a doctor would order sleep tests and be unable to treat anything above simple obstructive apnea. It's frankly misfeasance.

The doctor never said I have “complex sleep apnea”; but that I have complex disordered breathing - a term I don’t understand.
Anyway if I am honest; I think this was a nice way to saying “I’m not working with you anymore” I think the fact that I had the test is immaterial, the doctor was going to dismiss me regardless, and now I’m stuck having done the test for no reason as I can’t access the results. If the doctor would just review the test & give me the results - at least - before dismissing me.. But reception told me they were told not to make any appointments for me in the future, that I was cut off.

I don't know what the payment situation is, but I would withhold payment and complain to the medical board.

Yup, I'd say medical exams, tests, etc. are services. Demand good service and get the report or withhold the bucks.
