Does anyone use the Hybernite heated hose and do you also use a hose cover? Does it in anyway improve or reduce the efficiency of the hose?

Hose cover on a Hybernite heated hose?
I'm asking about the Hybernite heated hose, not other brands.
Does anyone use the Hybernite heated hose and do you also use a hose cover? Does it in anyway improve or reduce the efficiency of the hose?

RE: Hose cover on a Hybernite heated hose?
I use a Hybernite hose with a hose cover during the winter. I keep my bedroom cold then, and the Hybernite didn't give me enough heat without the hose cover. Then when it warmed up in the early spring, the hose cover made the air too hot, so I switched to a standard hose with a hose cover. During the summer I use a standard hose without a hose cover.
If the air coming out is too warm, it's helpful to add a short, uncovered hose at the mask end to help control the temperature of the air. The Hybernite has no temperature control. It either heats up or it doesn't.

Thanks for your reply. Roughly what temperature is the bedroom just before spring?

It's colder than most people like. I think it's below 60º F. I haven't seen any other complaints that the Hybernite doesn't give off enough heat.
I'm stuck with a defective thermostat in a rental unit that causes bad temperature swings. The maintenance man acknowledges the problem but refuses to replace it. It can be freezing in here, and then an hour later it will be so hot that I have to open the window. I make do in the winter by shutting off the main heater when I go to bed and using a small space heater instead. The temperature gradually drops during the night, but it's not as bad as using the main heater. |
