Well, I just got a new chamber in the mail from Apria last night and it has the round bottom on it. So I would assume it is just a matter of working through old stock.
To answer the question about how big the plate is...
New - measurements in mm ... a little pi R squared
82^2 x 3.14159 = 6724 sqmm
vs square plate
67.5x80 = 5400 sqmm
So, larger surface area touching which should mean more rapid temperature changes when the plate comes on.
I do not have the tools to measure the interior diminsions but the lid seal looks identical and is interchangable. Visually the interior of the bottom looks the same and when I pour water into both and then measure the volume it is the same from both.
