Low AHI, yet no improvement on CPAP
Hello everyone, I am a new poster in this forum and just wanted some help on my CPAP treatment. I was diagnosed with mild OSA (AHI 5.5) and was this past month was given a Resmed Airsense 11 with a nasal mask covering. My sleep doctor left the pressure settings on the machine on its default I think (4-20) and I wanted to know if there was a better range that I could try out with my OSCAR report. My general symptoms are excessive daytime tiredness and fatigue throughout the whole day and with the CPAP I'm still feeling these same symptoms. If there is anything else worth concern from my OSCAR data that I should be aware of please let me know!
Thanks in advance for the help. (Attached is my Sleep Study + OSCAR graphs)

RE: Low AHI, yet no improvement on CPAP
I would feel like I was dying if my unit ever ran at 4 pressure, but I'm no expert. I'm sure someone more proficient will be along soon.
What I am familiar with is how long it takes your body to adjust to a night of good breathing. At least a couple of months, from my experience. In the meantime, I was stuporous. But, first things, first, get those pressures figured out!

RE: Low AHI, yet no improvement on CPAP
This is an easy one to call right now. 4 is way to low.. a cpap is made for children and adults and 4 is used for kids and is the absolute lowest it can go.
I would suggest 2 changes First Min 7 EPR set to full time EPR 3 give that a night and post again your charts. And no you will not be feeling great in one night but you will if we can get the settings right in a week or 2.
Apnea (80-100%) 10 seconds, Hypopnea (50-80%) 10 seconds, Flow Limits (0-50%) not timed Cervical Collar - Dealing w DME - Chart Organizing

RE: Low AHI, yet no improvement on CPAP
Hey, thanks for the help
I made the changes you recommended and recorded the sleep data on OSCAR. I feel like I still need some adjusting to the pressure since I woke up with my nasal mask off so didn't have any restful sleep. I'll try again one more night with the same settings |
