New Unit Purchase
I just purchased the S10 'for her' model because it has the added functionality in the algorithm
The on line place where I purchased was amazing. I do not think I am allowed to mention the company or agent but if I can, please let me know. She spent almost 30 minutes on the phone with me discussing a lot if information. A lot more than I got from the local DME.
While I do have the Clinician manual and the ResMed software, I am going to take her up on her offer to monitor things from this 'cloud based' data. Essentially, the machine uploads the data and she can log in, look at it and make changes remotely. If it does not work out, I can always take over myself. She is a licensed resp therapist so I am assuming for starters, she knows more than me.
She is starting the unit wide open, 4 to 21 and then when she sees what pressure I appear to be using, will tighten it up.
Any of you have any feelings about taking this route?
BTW - if it was not for the support I got here, I would not be going back to trying the CPAP - I scrapped the S9 a year ago after failing to be able to use it because the local DME was an idiot and not knowing about this forum.
RE: New Unit Purchase
Hi sleepyCoder,
CONGRATULATIONS! on the new machine.
It's great to hear you have found a supplier who is willing to work with you.
Enjoy your new machine and let us know how you do with it.

Welcome to the forum, sleepyCoder!
You have a right to all your past sleep reports, both diagnostic (without PAP treatment) reports and titration (trying out different PAP treatment pressures) reports, including full plots of the data. And a copy of your previous prescription.
If you have used PAP treatment you may find a Min Pressure of 4 too low, uncomfortable.
I would suggest increasing the Min Pressure setting right away if 4 is so low that it feels like you are having to work too hard when inhaling.
I would be interested to learn how secure is the cloud. Can any therapist see someone's data just by typing in a serial number? I suppose you must sign some authorization form for ResMed to grant her access to your machine?
Take care,
--- Vaughn
