How long does a CPAP last?
I have 13786 hours on my Resmed AirCurve 10 VAuto. Is it time to be looking around for a replacement?
Have to thank the fine members here for recommending the VAuto, as using this machine has really improved the quality of my life. Prior to the VAuto I had hit rock bottom, simply from lack of restorative sleep over the course of 10 years. Once titrated on the VAuto, I have become a far happier and more productive person.
Honestly, I'd be a total mess without it, which is why I'm thinking of getting another one.

I believe it is around 22,000 hours when you start getting the total hours message.

RE: How long does a CPAP last?
Even at 22,000 hours the machine doesn't stop working. It just nags you every time it runs. It could last 40,000 hours.
Which is good because a more evil-minded company would program it to stop say, at 10% more hours than the warning even though it is still fully operational.
To be real belt and suspenders one could buy a new one but continue to use the old one until it literally quits which might take 3 or 4 years. Or more. Or use the old one for travel and the new one at home.
