RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
I ordered one from Wellvue, the Checkme. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Much thanks for the help and advice!

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
It came today. The Checkme.
So after actually RTFM (reading the freaking manual), I got it charged and on my hand. The only question I have is can I wear it on my right wrist? I mean, I don't see why not. My watch is on my left. The only problem is the device's text is upside down but I'm smart enough to read it (not smart enough to figure out how to open the box, but that's another story that gave my wife laughs a plenty). My main concern thus far is my SpO2 stays around 93-96% with me here awake. It will be interesting to see what it is doing in my sleep.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Yes, as far as I know, you can wear it on either hand. I use the sleepU on both. It's the cheaper one from the same brand with less memory but probably very similar technology. I did read that you should wear it on pinky, index or thumb. They don't want it on the middle fingers because if you form a fist it will squeeze it from both sides. over time I think it's a little stretched out and then I go to a thicker finger. I also haven't found a lot of difference with how far down on the finger it goes. I've only had to replace a couple of sensor cords out of several devices throughout the family and many years, so they're pretty robust.
I sometimes get lower readings when I first put it on so I tend to discount the initial one and wear it for a little while and see if it keeps going down. Remember that you're not trying to go for 100 or even 99 or 98. It will depend a lot on altitude and the individual. I aim for 97, 96 is okay too but when I'm dropping to 95 and lower I know I need to breathe more. Addressing oxygen drops during the night may have a big impact on daytime oxygen levels and on the variability- how much change results in a drop. Unless you have other complications, I'd focus on the night time first, but you can also use the daytime readings to show you where you hold your breath or breathe shallow. Also know that it's normal for oxygen to drop and then come back up some. I'd like to look at the percent under 90 and percent under 94 to get an idea of how long I'm spending down there. A little time under 95 is completely normal at my altitude.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
I have hypertension and it has been well controlled for quite some time. Suddenly a few months ago, it rose sharply to the point I was a stroke risk (208/110 for example). I experienced this the first time about 2yrs (I think, it has been a while) after I started CPAP. I went through a ton of heart tests then was referred to the sleep doc, who, without checking data, raised my pressure. BP resumed normal after about 2 weeks. Since I can check my data now, I am certain it is not the CPAP to blame this time. However, my watch does O2 readings and at night it has been going down to the low 80s. I want to eliminate the CPAP/sleep data completely so we can focus on other sources.
To be able to link it directly into OSCAR and see if there are any issues is my goal.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Hi All, new to the forum and have read this thread while looking at options for overnight O2 readings to assist in optimising my therapy. I have just started using a Resmed A10 after a decade of Philips system one. A few moths ago, I had my right lung removed (cancer) so I am really motivated/interested to see what my 02 levels are like overnight. It looks like you can get the readings from these devices to feed into Oscar too which is great. I have downloaded Oscar, waiting to start using that.
Are Rings generally the best way to get 02 readings overnight that are Oscar compatible?

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Just my opinion (long time SleepU user) -The viatom devices are great low cost options but I would suggest the Checkme or SleepU over the O2Ring. Given your situation you will be using it a lot and so would want to be able to switch out the sensor cable ($29, cheap enough to maybe even have an extra on hand) and from recent threads it sounds like the Checkme may be more accurate due to more frequent samples. I'm not dissing the O2Ring, it is an affordable option for the average home user but for your case maybe not quite enough and $100 difference will pay for itself over time.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Wore my Checkme last night and imported it successfully today. The clue to import it is the DATA>Import Wellvue NOT the import wizard. Techiehippie's post on another thread (mentioned above) got me on the right track. It was easy to import.
Last night's data was rather useless because apparently me and my mask were arguing last night and it kept coming off. My elbow alarm went off many times.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Tyler, if the ring is as big as the Checkme, go with the checkme. It is freakin' huge. I'm not sure I would tolerate that weight/size on my finger. On my wrist, I don't notice it. The only issue I've had so far is the silicone wristband. I do not understand the desire of users or manufacturers to use silicone watch/wrist bands. Even a little bit of sweat makes them slimy. If I end up wearing the Checkme every night, I'll have to come up with an alternative or fix.
