You could always make some little sleeves from a hose cover.

I have several soft, unmatched socks. I think I will use one of them to start experimenting. At least they'll come to use instead of staying in that box on the shelf, waiting endlessly for their mate to return.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
The ring is not very large. I think the difference in size is mainly battery and screen. The SleepU is in the middle, smaller than the CheckMe, bigger than the ring.
With my SleepU, I wear the silicone band quite loose. What tends to bug me the most is the extra length of the cord from the monitor to my finger, I have small hands. Sometimes depending on how I'm sleeping I rotate the loose device to the inside of my wrist and this way the cord wraps or spirals around the side of my hand to get to the device.
RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Yeah, I'll have to do that, too. I put it on my thumb for most of the night but later it hurt so I switched to the index. I also got tangled in that dang cord.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
I've started trying to find the loosest fit of the finger cuff that fits. I don't know if the CheckMe is like the SleepU and starts a new session if it loses connection for 10 seconds, but this is no longer an issue for me because Oscar puts them all in one graph. Before I could never see a broken night on one screen or with combined stats which was annoying. Oh! My experiments indicated that I can turn the sensor sideways (cord to outside of my hand rather than on top of finger) with the same results. Sometimes that is much more comfortable, especially on the thumb. It took me a while to figure that out
Also, I take a 2" piece of electrical tape, fold over 3/4" to itself, and apply the sticky bit to the edge of the screen. This way there is no light when I flick my wrist, but I can peek under the folded part to see the reading, though I try not to do that too much at night.
RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
We had another adventure last night. Power outage. Temp @13 with wind chill of -4. Yay. I can't sleep without the CPAP so I stayed in bed.
Anyway. when power did come back on, I switched the sensor from my thumb to my finger (it wasn't powered on, I was just wearing it). I woke 7hrs later and had a very sore finger. It has been tender all day. I have an itty bitty useless pinky but I may try a little bit of tape on it to see if it holds all night. Not on my skin, just pinching the sensor's finger silicone holder thingy whatsit tighter. Maybe.
The light from the red glow or the wrist part doesn't bother me.
The good news is that yes, my O2 is dropping into the 80s but not often and not for very long. I'll gather data for a while before posting anything.

RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Ouch, that's no fun. Did it bother you sideways as well? I'd be wary of squeezing the sides together. Can you put it below the knuckle on the pinky? That's what I do.
RE: O2 Ring vs Checkme O2
Last night I kept it on my thumb and while it was tender when I took it off, it was not for long. My thumb is bigger (duh) so I'm surprised it isn't more sore.
I have sensitive skin and don't react well to heat on my skin.

And that is why I went to the trouble of building this.
I can do no power and just run the gas fireplaces, but not without the cpap and O2 concentrator. This will run 5 nights without the oxygen or 1 night with O2+cpap. The larger battery I started with will do twice that, but it is to big.

I've slept in the van before, which has a power outlet. But it was horribly uncomfortable and I didn't sleep much. I keep meaning to get a battery backup system. Luckily we don't lose power often.
