Oscar program will not open data files

Oscar program will not open data files
I have not used Oscar for several months.  When I tried to use it today, version 1.5, the program freezes after opening the automatic download screen.  It appears to downloaded data from the card in my AirCurve machine.  I noticed that there has been an upgrade in the software, so I downloaded version 1.6 with the same result.  I am able to select options from the menus but nothing happens.  The program opening page does not show a profile, however, when I select update profile from the menu, the previous information remains.  Any suggestions?
Thanks

RE: Oscar program will not open data files
You left out a few key pieces of information. What is your Operating System? Is your data being stored on the computer or on the cloud? Have you verified that the data file location matches where OSCAR is looking?

RE: Oscar program will not open data files
Windows 11, Stored on the computer.  I checked the input files and they seem to be complete going back several years.  Oscar copied files from the data card, so I "assume" it knows where the data is (since it put it there).  Last time I used Oscar, several months ago, it worked fine.  No change in computer firmware except for regular Windows updates.  Not a techie so have not messed with computer settings other to install and uninstall programs.

Thanks
Ray

RE: Oscar program will not open data files
That was an incorrect reply,  I was thinking about the files on the card, not on the computer.  Not sure where files are stored, will look for that.

RE: Oscar program will not open data files
I don't see any files identified as Oscar in the Program Data or App data folders.  Where might I find it?

RE: Oscar program will not open data files
Your OSCAR_Data directory should be in your Documents folder.  That is possibly a Windows 11 security problem.  Here are some tips to see if it corrects your problem.
  • In Windows 11, use the Privacy page to choose which apps can use a particular feature. Select Start > Settings > Privacy & security. Select an App permission (for example, Location) then choose which apps can access it
    Reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...f0ed2ee15c

  • Directory Permission Settings
To specify which users or groups can access a file or folder:
    1. Right-click the file or folder you want to set permissions for and select "Properties".
    2. Navigate to the "Security" tab.
    3. Click on the "Edit" button to change permissions.
    4. In the permissions window, select a user or group from the list. Then, check or uncheck the boxes in the "Permissions for [username]" section to grant or deny specific permissions (like "Read", "Write", etc.).
    5. Tip: Adding the group, "Everybody" and setting it to Full Access for your Documents folder should correct OSCAR access problems.
    6. If the option "Apply to subdirectories" is present, select it.
    7. Click "OK" to apply the changes.
  •  User Account Control (UAC):
UAC is a security feature that can prompt users for permission or an administrator password before allowing certain tasks.

    To adjust UAC settings:
    • In the search bar, type "UAC" and click on "Change User Account Control settings".
    • Use the slider to select the desired level of notification/alert. Moving the slider to the top will notify you whenever apps try to make changes, while moving it to the bottom will disable notifications.
    • Click "OK" to save the changes.

Please post your success or failure.
