The health coverage my wife and I have now is simply top-notch. It couldn't be be any better. We have a great network of local doctors that we have a history with. We have 0 deductible and co-pay. My DME Provider is Rotech out of Kentucky. Every three months they send me an email inquiry as to the supplies I need. I simply respond and they are quick to send me my supplies w/o any charge. I did use the VA in the past, and it was "okay". Problem was trying to schedule an appt. that wasn't three months or more out. That, and it seemed like I never saw the same doctor twice. It was just cumbersome and frustrating at times. Like I said, our coverage is outstanding. I couldn't ask for any better! Like any health insurance these days, it's not cheap, but we do get our money's worth.

The first thing the Sgt. says is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The second is to slap on a new coat of green paint, and all will be well. And for the Bou Scouts among you-- Carry some "go fast tape."

RE: Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet question.
I am pleased to say that my CPAP machine seems to be running great again. No more noise(s) at all. Not sure why it was acting up like it did, but it's now performing like it always has in the past.
I'm relieved that I don't have to pursue getting a replacement, for now. When I see my doctor on Aug. 1st for a follow-up exam, I'll bring up the subject of a new machine. Yup.......I'm back in the saddle again............

Big Guy, you hopefully have a copy of your diagnostic sleep test in your personal files. As long as you have that test and a doctor's recommendation that you benefit from the PAP therapy, you can avoid any future sleep tests. This is a common problem where a DME or sleep doctor recommends a sleep test. It is NOT a requirement of Medicare. We can discuss further if the need arises.

Thanks for the clarification, that helps a lot. My machine seems to now be functioning fine. No more groaning or whining sounds. It's a big relief, cause I wasn't all that pumped up about trying to get a replacement machine and the hassle it involves.

RE: Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet question.
Yes, the Resmed AirSense 10 is still available. My 18 month old machine started making that moaning noise on inhale after about 4 hours of use. I tried everything and nothing worked. Supplier 29 sent the macine to Resmed for repair. They had it for 3 months and then replaced it with a new AS10, saying it was unrepairable. I have an aversion to DME providers so I buy all my stuff and use the Apnea Board and Supplier 29 for advice. I have seen the AirSense 10 Card to Cloud available for $599. It is intersting that the machine that was deemed unrepairable was a Card to Cloud version and Suppler 29 rerplaced it with the modem version. In any case it's working fine.
In my humble opinion there is a motor problem and a motor supplier poblem that Resmed doesn't want to admit too. Otherwise why not just replace the motor instead of saying the machine is unrepairable? Any machine can be repaired if you can get the parts needed. During the 3 months that Resmed had the machine, I replaced the motor on my noisy 5 year old AS10 with an aftermarket one. It was easy to do and works fine. Good luck. |
