Resmed S9 Start Issue
Guys,
Need some help. I have been using my S 9 for years now no issues at all until last night. Fask Kit great API 1, really no issues and well rested. Last night I switched on and the machine started blowing hard all the way up to 4 which is the start pressure. Never done that before . So put my nazal mask on and normally I feel a little back pressure then all is great . Last night is started blowing back so hard my ears popped....this has never happened before. Anyway i tried to resist and the machine went into error. Switched off and tried again, same thing. Error on comes if i resist the pressure with the mask on, otherwise it blows --hard and then stops.
Does anyone have any ideas where i can start looking , unfortunately I'm not any close to an agent to take the machine in, I'm in a very remote area , will be here for the next 2 weeks.
Had a very restless sleep last night.
ITS ON AUTOSTART/ OR AUTOSETUP.
Let's start with a review of your machine and its settings. This short tutorial describes how to access the clinical manual https://www.apneaboard.com/resmed-s9-cpap-setup It will help if you scroll through the menus and write down the mode, minimum pressure, maximum pressure, EPR settings, Autostart and anything else you see. The S9 is getting to be an older machine, and yours may be at the end of it's normal life expectancy, but we should at least look at what you're dealing with.
If you will use OSCAR software, all of the information would be available in the charts you can post on the forum. If you have a SD card in the machine and a way to read that on a computer, you should be using OSCAR.

A couple easy things to try.
Unplug the machine for several minutes to let all power 'drain' from the unit. It should only takes few seconds but to be sure. Then restart.
Turn off the autostart you mentioned.
What they said above.

RE: Resmed S9 Start Issue
Hi,
So I tried everything last night with no success. Last resort I googled how to strip the unit. Opening it up cleaned it out put it back together---success all of a sudden working , have no idea what the issue was . Anyway attached a file of last night. Settings are all default, felt ok also looking at the log looks ok as well. Let me know what youthink or if theres anything I need to change. it did feel different a lot more air.
regards
Gary
