Sleepyhead and ResMed

Newer ResMed machines (at least some of them) have network monitoring built in (Yay!).  Is there any chance that Sleepyhead will use that instead of reading the card?  Thank you.

Not a chance! ResMed uses the cellular network, and monitoring that is FBI, and CSIS, and Mafia (or state sponsored surveillance) level technology. It's way beyond what any sane open-source programmer would attempt.

On the other hand, Bluetooth or WiFi is fairly easily tracked, but if the data is encrypted, using it is much harder. Assuming you have the data, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have the breath-by-breath flow data that SleepyHead presents.

As long as ResMed uses a standard size SD card, you can use a FlashAir (I think?) card to wirelessly transfer the data to your computer.

If I understand your last comment; The FlashAir will connect to most platforms.  Both Sleep Master and FlashPAP are written in Java, a universal language that allows it to operate on any OS that has a Java engine.  I have FlashPAP on both a Windows PC and a Linux laptop that connect to my FlashAir on a scheduled daily basis.   All the programs needed to use a FlashAir on an Apple are readily available.

Thanks.  Problem is that I have had a stroke and need very specific instructions!  There are some beautiful posts describing how to do this in Windows, but do you know of any for OS-X?

Larry, I don't see why you would do this. You could buy 3 regular SD cards to use as backups for a single wi-fi card, and stick with what you know. I don't use the wi-fi cards, mostly because I don't check data very often, but it's more complicated and that is a sure recipe for something to go wrong. If what you're doing now works, keep doing it and buy a backup card just in case. I don't doubt that you would eventually get it working, but just don't see this "tech"thing as a good fit for you.

I would do this so I didn't have to remove the card, bring it downstairs, run Sleepyhead, bring the card upstairs, and put it back in the unit.  I already have the card.  However, you may be right...  I certainly would like to try it.  It is probably obvious, but I know and like computers, and want to do things that I used to do without even thinking about.  If I had known what was going to happen, I probably would have stayed with Windows.  With Apple some things are way easier, but others are considerably more difficult.

No harm in trying. Follow the tutorial and make it happen. If you don't get it to connect right away, you still have the data regardless of how you transfer it.
