[CPAP] Question regarding SD card usage for Airsense 11 Autoset

Hello all!

I just started my APAP journey a little under 2 weeks ago and I have a question about the SD Card usage for my device (Airsense 11 AutoSet)

I am using Myair, but It only gives shallow information, so I am looking to start using OSCAR to get better insight into my therapy.

I noticed that the Airsense 11 machine I received did not have an SD card installed, so I have some questions below before I purchase and insert an SD card:

1. The Airsense 11 is connected via the internet. Where is this data stored and can I access those stored cloud data?
   
   
2. If I were to go to see my doctor after using the Airsense 11 device without an SD card, how would he have access to my sleep data? Would he only have access to the minimal sleep data available on MyAir?
   
   
3. Can I view my detailed sleep data on OSCAR or any other detailed sleep data viewing software without the usage of an SD card (perhaps on Resmed website)? Or can detailed sleep data only be viewed with an SD card?
   
   
4. What happens when I start using an SD card? Can I still access MyAir sleep data online? Will my doctor have access to all my sleep data online?
   
   
5. Will using the SD cause an issue with the current form of sleep data transfer/storage? Does putting the SD card into the machine stop it from uploading sleep data to the cloud? Or will the machine store the sleep data on the SD card as well as the cloud? 
   
   
6. How long does the SD Card store the sleep data before overwriting? Do I need to regularly back up my SD card data? If so, can I just drag and drop a copy onto my computer?
   

Any help would be greatly appreciated all!

1. The data is stored in the ResMed cloud. You access it with MyAir.
2. The doctor has ResMed software to access the same data. Not anywhere near as detailed as OSCAR.
3. The detailed data is only available using OSCAR. The Resmed cloud only stores summary data.
4. Use of the SD card has no impact on sleep data sent to ResMed.

6. A 32 GB SD card will store years and years of data. I remember seeing a calculation somewhere, but don’t recall the specifics.

1. the data is stored on resmed's server. no you can't you need a subscription to AirView, the software for physicians.
2. they have a subscription to AirView. and they added your machine's number to their account. not sure exactly what data they get but it's more than myair.
3. you can only view your data on myair without a sd card, and via a website/software using the sd card.
4.5. the sd card changes nothing to myair, your data will still be there and your doctor will have access to it. it's separate, a copy of the data is stored on the sd card if present in addition to sending it to resmed.
6. forever until it's full. a few gigs will probly hold years of data. you don't need to do a backup until the machine complains it's full but that won't happen for a while.

If you don't mind (as you seem very knowledgable) I was hoping to ask some follow up questions.

1. I have been using MyAir but the data is so limited. Am I missing something? where are the basic stuff like Flow Rate graphs and Pressure Graphs?
   
2. Does that mean that the doctor also has no access to stuff like Flow Rate graphs and Pressure Graphs?

4. So Airsense 11 will continue to send data to MyAir and whatever software that the doctor has access to, but it will ALSO write data on the SD card? The inclusion of the SD card will not interfere with any data transfer process that is currently taking place?

Per Resmed, the AS11 will store 365 days of summary data, 30 days of detailed data and 30 sessions of high-resolution data on the SD card.  The use of the SD card does not affect any other data reporting.  It also provides more detailed information than any of the other data report methods.

The doctor and the DME can see a little more than what MyAir reports.  It is a special subscription service for only the medical professionals.  Since they have to pay for this connection, it is normally used until you have met your insurance compliance requirements.

1. No, that is how MyAir reports data to the patient.
2. They have some access to more data. I have yet to meet a doctor who bothers with it. They only care about compliance for insurance purposes.

4. Correct, it writes to both. It does not interfere with anything.

Bottom line. Use OSCAR for details. You will reach a point as things settle down where you do not even bother to look at things unless there is a problem.
