CPAP to ASV setting translation?
Hi folks,
For past few months I have been going back and forth between ASV and cpap device. Although consistently getting 0 AHi on ASV and having charts praised as ideal. I still had this weird headache that wouldn't go all day. I switched back to cpap 2 weeks ago. At PS 7 and EPR off, Although I sleep same hours and have an AHI between range 1 - 3, I feel so much better than ASV. I don't know why and curious to see if others are curious to compare both charts. Let me know happy to upload
My main question is, what is the equivalent of 7 PS and EPR off cpap to ASV (is it to be on epap 7 and 0 PS min and 5 PS max - ASV works in 5cm increments)
Also why would ASV give me weird sleep lag or headache when it says 0 events ? Even fitbit shows my deep sleep and rem is worse on ASV than cpap (despite already low ASV settings Epap 5 and Min PS 2 and max PS 7)
RE: CPAP to ASV setting translation?
PS is not CPAP terminology, so to clarify, you are using a CPAP pressure of 7.0 with EPR off? If that is correct, there is no ASV equivalent as all Resmed ASV settings will require a range of PS to be set that is at least 5.0 cm difference between the maximum and minimum. EPAP 4.0, or higher as needed to prevent obstructive events, PS min 0, PS max 5 would be the lowest ASV pressure settings possible.
If you are more comfortable on CPAP with a perfectly acceptable AHI of 1 to 3, I have no idea why you should use ASV with less satisfactory sleep.

Hi! How are you these days? I have the same difficulty as you. I have csa, but I feel dizzy and very tired in the morning when I used asv. Apap doesn't have such a haed symptom, but ahi comes out high
