New user oscar results suggestions
Hello all, thankfull to be apart of this group. I have had no sleep studys done, i just want to stop the 2-3 hours of epic snoring every night and the 3-4 morning headachs per week so i bought an airsense 11 and read all suggestions from here to set it up. Now i would like to know if i am doing things right.
Thanks

RE: New user oscar results suggestions
You have made a good start. Here are a couple of suggestions: 1. Change your pressure setting. Set your minimum pressure to 7 and leave your maximum pressure where it is for now. 2. Turn off ramp. You get virtually no therapy during ramp. 3. Set EPR full-time, set at 3. This will help with flow limits and make breathing easier. 4. Change your Oscar charts. We need to see, all on one page, and in the order listed: Event Flags, Flow Rate, Pressure, Leak Rate, and Flow Limits, nothing else. We will ask if we need to see more. Your left panel is correct on June 8, not the other two days, but it would be good to make the panel a little more narrow so that all the words are where they belong, but there should be no extra space beyond that. Making those changes should improve your therapy and comfort, and the chart fixes will make it easier for us to help you. I have no suggestions about the gas. Someone with more knowledge on that will hopefully come along.

RE: New user oscar results suggestions
You are having positional apnea. You can see positional apnea where either H or Oa events are clustered together. Getting rid of as many as you can will lower your AHI. Positional apnea can NOT be controlled by pressure changes. You have to find out what position you are getting into and cutting off your own airway. Have you changed your sleep position? Sleeping on your back? Using more (or new) pillows? These things can cause positional apnea by chin dropping to your sternum and cutting your airway. Think of it of a kinked hose – nothing can get through – you have to unkink the hose…
IF you can’t make a simple change like changing to a flatter pillow helps then you will need a collar. I have a link to collars in my signature at the bottom of the page. It shows people who are not wearing a collar and the SAME person wearing a collar. There is a huge difference between the two.
Apnea (80-100%) 10 seconds, Hypopnea (50-80%) 10 seconds, Flow Limits (0-50%) not timed Cervical Collar - Dealing w DME - Chart Organizing

Thanks Stacey, I am trying your suggestions and thank you for the hint of looking for clusters in the H and OA.
