I have an Airsense 11 and a Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face Mask. Been using this since June with great results. It has completely changed my life and how I sleep in a very positive way. I use Oscar to dissect the data and keep track of my daily progress. At this point the machine has been setup by the medical clinic which was back in June when I was diagnosed with severe OSA and settings have not been changed since. I've kept record of it. My AHI's have been under 1.5 on average, on a full 8 hour night sleep.
Today, reviewing the data of the last couple of nights, I noticed that I do have "some" OSA episodes which the machine does not pick up and flag in any way, thus are not added to the daily AHI. I became curious about it and went back a whole month and reviewed more data. It only seems that this "trend" has been happening for the last week or so. I also noticed that I've been woken up once or twice during the night in the last few day, but I fall back to sleep almost instantly so I'm not sure if this is related to to these "rogue" episodes of OSA. That did not happen a month ago. Again, the settings have been exactly the same since June when I started my CPAP therapy. Could it be that my body is already "adjusting" to a certain pressure or setting and my OSA is getting worse? I don't seem to find any data on this question.
The "rogue" OSA episodes seem to be averaging under 10 seconds. They look exactly (graph wise) like a "normal" OSA episodes where the machine picks up, flags and reacts by kicking up the pressure. There's no trigger on the "rogue" OSA episodes, as the pressure remains constant at the value prior and after the episode.
The length of the unflagged OSA episodes appear to be always below the 10 second threshold which the flagged OSA seem to always go past. Is there a certain time threshold built in these algorithms and is that how the CPAP unit flags it and adjusts the pressure off of or are there parameter/data which is used in real time? I do not use an O2 monitor but I'm in the process of looking for one that pairs with this unit (btw, if anyone has had good results with particular unit/brand of pulse ox , please let me know!).
I attached some screen shots.
I welcome any input or ideas.
Thank you!
